May 2025 fishing report

The season is finally here and there is a buzz in the air with anticipation of what 2025 will bring to Eagle Pointe lodge. Our staff arrived at the lodge this season several weeks in advance of the first guests to prepare the lodge and boats for the season kick off on May 19th.

We’ve continued our commitment to providing a 5-star experience with several upgrades around the lodge. Guests will enjoy:

  • Brand-new bedroom furniture
  • A completely redesigned bar
  • Fresh linens in every room
  • Various enhancements throughout the property

These improvements reflect our ongoing dedication to comfort and quality, both on and off the water.

Before guests arrived, our guides hit the water to scout and fine-tune the boats. Early signs pointed to a strong chinook run—and the first guests reaped the rewards. Calm, sunny weather allowed for offshore halibut and bottom fishing, making for one of the best starts in recent memory.

Though weather systems later pushed us into more sheltered waters, our guides adapted quickly. Productive fishing continued, with the largest chinook weighing in at 28 lbs and several halibut that taped out to the allowable 102 cm limit.

Fisheries update

Starting June 1st, new chinook regulations are in effect:

1 chinook per day, 2 in possession. This conservation measure supports the long-term health of local stocks. Coho salmon are expected to arrive soon, with standard limits in place.

Wildlife Alert…

Nature has been putting on a show! Guests and staff have spotted:

  • Killer whales and the occasional humpback
  • Bears foraging along the shoreline
  • Bald eagles soaring overhead, always on the lookout for a meal

After a day on the water, guests can unwind with top notch dining prepared by our head chef. Evenings are best spent relaxing at the gazebo, soaking in the views and sharing stories from the day.

The team is energized and ready to welcome all our upcoming guests. We can’t wait to share the magic of Eagle Pointe Lodge with you this season.

See you soon!

Tight lines,

Jonathan Beaty
